The plant is cut down, larger fan leaves are trimmed away, and buds are prepared for drying — the transition point between growing and processing.

Key tasks

1. 1Harvest in the morning if possible, when the plant's internal moisture is typically lowest
2. 2Trim large fan leaves before drying; whether to trim smaller sugar leaves now or after drying is a matter of preference (wet vs. dry trim)
3. 3Hang or lay branches somewhere dark, with steady airflow, moderate humidity, and stable temperature — this is where curing quality actually starts

What to watch for

• Harvesting too early (mostly clear trichomes) sacrifices potency; too late (mostly amber) shifts the effect and can reduce quality
• Rushing the dry (high heat, direct light, poor airflow) is one of the most common ways to ruin an otherwise good grow at the last step
